Under normal circumstances, standard residential fibre installations are free as they are subsidized by the NZ Government.
In some cases, the provider may deem an installation as "Non-Standard". This is usually because the installation materials required are greater than what the Government has set aside for each installation.
For example, if you have a significantly long driveway, the provider may quote a 'top-up' cost for the homeowner.
This quote must be accepted before the work can progress.
If you are interested in the process behind fibre installation, there is great documentation on the Chorus website, and it can be found HERE.
If you have any questions about the fibre installation process, or want to connect your home to fibre, feel free to get in touch.
