When we place an order to your fibre provider, we request them to complete what we call a 'backfeed'.
This takes the new phoneline from the Fibre ONT (Optical Network Terminal) back into the internal copper wiring in your home.
This means, any device that plugs into a jackpoint (phones, alarms, Sky decoders etc) will work across fibre.
One downside to this process means your devices will not work in the event of a power cut.
As a medical alarm requires power to communicate with emergency services, we would recommend contacting the medical alarm provider and indicating you want to move to fibre.
Another option is checking out what's called a UPS (uninterruptible power supply). These work like giant batteries that provide power to the line even if there is a power cut.
